We are excited to announce that Amy Magill was named the National Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Launch Teacher of the Year!
Amy Magill is a 1st-grade teacher at East Farms Elementary. She is dedicated to integrating English Language Arts with PLTW, aiming to deepen students' understanding. She serves as a PLTW Site Coordinator and PLTW Launch Lead Teacher and has been a Master Teacher since 2015 for both PLTW Launch Classroom Teacher and PLTW Launch Lead Teacher Training.
What is PLTW Launch?
PLTW Launch is an innovative program designed to tap into the natural curiosity of young minds. It offers a series of hands-on activities, projects, and problems that build upon each other, relating directly to real-world scenarios. This immersive approach blends computer science, engineering, biomedical science, and more, creating an integrated learning experience that goes beyond traditional subject boundaries.
Key features of PLTW Launch include:
- Hands-on, project-, and problem-based learning
- Integration of math, English Language Arts, and science standards
- Curriculum available in both English and Spanish to support all learners
- Flexible implementation options to suit various educational settings
